William C. Keene, 59, died at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Alton Nursing & Rehab. Born April 3, 1955 in Alton, he was the son of Norman and Lora (Vaughn) Keene of Alton. He was a janitor for Wood River Refinery for the past year and a half. On July 11, 1997 he married the former Phyllis Straube in Edwardsville. She survives. Along with his parents and wife he is survived by three daughters, Annette Manus (Gary) of Benld, Melissa M. Allen (Derek) of Alton, and Heather A. Keene of Alton, three sons, William S. Keene of Ina, IL, Clifford M. Keene (Kayli) of East Alton, and Michael A. Fillop of Alton, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, Danny Marshall (Pat) of Sun City, AZ, and three sisters, Sarah Franklin (Herman) of Alton, Lauri Naylor (Randy) of Bunker Hill, and Donna Keene. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Marshall. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Dr. Rick Patrick will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family.
