Vivian Ridenour, 84, died at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her home in Alton. Born January 23, 1927 in Alton, she was the daughter of Raymond and Lena (Allen) Wallace. She owned and operated Viv's Beauty Salon in Jerseyville for 13 years. On October 17, 1942 in St. Charles, MO, she married Denzil Ridenour. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Joyce Stafstrom of Alton, five sons, Raymond Ridenour Sr. of Alton, Jerry and Janet Ridenour of Greenfield, IN, Ricky Ridenour of Cudjoe Key, FL, Kevin and Karen Ridenour of Carrollton, and Terry Ridenour of Alton, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two brothers, Virgil Wallace of Fidelity, IL, and Clyde Wallace of Alton. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Southern Illinois Hospice.
