Virginia Ann Morgan, 79, died on June 12, 2024 at ST. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, Illinois. She was born on January 2, 1945 in Onarga, Illinois to Edna Shelton and Charlie Shelley. Virginia had two siblings, Steve Shelley (Liz) of Bloomington, Illinois and Danny Shelley (Deceased) of Florida. Virginia married the love of her life, Delbert Morgan, on January 18, 1964. Delbert passed away in December 2023. Surviving are stepson Richard Morgan, Danforth, and daughter, Michelle Roosa (John) of Godfrey, Illinois, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Morgan, a stepson, David Morgan, and her parents, Edna and Charlie. Virginia graduated from Onarga High School and worked hard to raise her kids through part-time jobs while they were younger. She enjoyed her time in real estate and retired from retail as the manager of Peggy's Hallmark in Bloomington, Illinois. Virginia was a terrific daughter, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend, but most notably, she was a loving wife who missed her soul mate and best friend and had to join him in heaven. Her sassy conversation and quiet wit will be deeply missed. The family will hold a small gathering at Baxter's Restaurant, 3212 Empire Street, in Bloomington, IL, for family and close friends on July 27th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be donated to the Dementia Society of America.
