Victoria Ann Green, 71, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2014 at her home in Alton with her beloved husband, Hayden F. Green, by her side. Born October 24, 1942 in Erwin, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Ruth Alice (Norris) Smith-Temple and the late Joseph Smith. On November 23, 1962 she married Hayden F. "Whitey" Green in Erwin, North Carolina. He survives. Also surviving is a son, Michael Green, two daughters, Patty Flanagan and Teri Tennyson; four grandchildren, Jana Green, Jeni Flanagan, Jami Garcia, and Shawn Green; eight great grandchildren, Josh Flanagan, Madison Burnett, Jordyn Green, Karson Green, Bre'Anna Gaston, Robert Gaston Jr., Cooper Gaston, and Jayden Flanagan and a 9th great grandchild on the way, and a brother, Joseph Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, a grandson, Jason Hogan, and a brother, Gary Smith. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will forever be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre' Dobson will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.
