Susan B. Cooper, 70, died at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1948 in Chestertown, Maryland the daughter of the late William Elwood and Margaret Ann (Baxter) Morris. She was a US Navy veteran and she worked at Famous Barr in Alton for many years and as the Meals on Wheel coordinator for 20 years at Senior Services Plus. She was a loving, proud wife, mother, sister, and the biggest fan of her grandchildren. Fifty years ago, on March 14, 1969 in Elizabeth City, NC she married Clifford A. "Cliff" Cooper and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jen Kenney (Jon) of Godfrey, one son, Dale Cooper (Meg) of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Garrett Cooper and Addison Kenney, one brother, James E. Morris II (Laurel) of Gastonia, NC, two nieces, three nephews and one great niece. She was preceded in death by her father in law and mother in law, Dale E. and Patricia "Peggy" Cooper and one sister in law, Jacquie Morris. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A memorial mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Father Steven Janoski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton.
