Shirley J. Admire, 79, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River. Born December 7, 1934 in Jerseyville, she was the daughter of Ray S. and Juanita (Green) Admire. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry R. Admire (Barb) of Alton, a sister, Carol Admire of Alton, nieces and nephews, Todd Admire (Mary Pat), Jud Admire, Stacey Semanisin, Scott Admire, Shannon Admire-McDill, Kelli Thompson (Charley), and Jodie Schenk-Krueger, and 15 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family are welcome to attend funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, and American Diabetes Association.
