Sharon Sue Spengler (nee Chandler), 78, passed away on August 4, 2023, in Alton, IL. She was born on October 2, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Walter Sr. and Laura Evelyn (Hunt) Chandler. Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Spengler, her parents, and her brother, Walter Jr. Sharon was a compassionate and giving person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She truly loved people and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Gray, and son-in-law, Jeff Gray; her granddaughter, Amanda, and AJ Ventimiglia; her grandson, Brandon Springer; her great-grandchildren, Dominic and Ava Ventimiglia; and her three sisters-in-law, Donna Chandler, Janet Skinner, and Gayle Krohn. Sharon attended McCluer High School and later pursued a successful career as a Recruiter. She was dedicated to her work and made a positive impact on the lives of many. Sharon was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she found solace and strength. Her faith was an important part of her life. A Celebration of Life is planned for September 9, 2023 to honor Sharon's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, where Sharon found comfort and support. We extend our deepest condolences to Sharon's family and friends during this difficult time. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
