Ruth Tucker, 101, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Robings Manor in Brighton. Born November 28, 1911 in West Blocton, Alabama, she was the daughter of J.A. and Mamie M. (Bowman) Miller. She was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Surviving is one daughter, Claudine Smith of Harrisburg, IL, one son, Ted Kornegay of Godfrey, 10 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three husbands, a daughter, Janet Lee Blankenship, a son, Benny Kornegay, five brothers, and four sisters. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Godfrey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Godfrey First United Methodist Church.
