Ruth Louise Long, 82, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home. Born February 23, 1934 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Edward Gravemann Sr. and Laura (Ludwig) Gravemann. Mrs. Long was a receptionist for Gravemann Photography for 18 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, camping and her family. On August 12, 1955 she married Dale Francis "Jake" Long in Alton. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2009. Surviving is a daughter, Karen Galyen (David) of East Alton, a son, Brian Long of East Alton, a grandson, Norman Long, and a brother, Ed Gravemann Jr. (Janet) of Alton. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Gravemann. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Pastor Randy Fischer will officiate.
