Arcadia, Florida - Ronald Howard Short, age 84 passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Arcadia, Florida. He was born on October 23, 1938, in Alton Illinois to Howard and Pauline Short. He living in Brighton, Illinois and later in Arcadia, Florida. He was married to Norma Short.
Ron was a carpenter for Olin Corporation, and he also studied the stock market. Ron and Norma traveled extensively for the last 30 years. Ron was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Moose Lodge.
Ronnie was a very loving man, who enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be remembered as a loving husband with beautiful blue eyes, and a wonderful loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and just the best man in the world.
He is survived by his wife Norma Short and his children Ronald Short, Gail and Dennis Nickle, Dawn Short Derousse, Shelly Short, John Short, Belinda Blevens, Joe and Patricia Roberts, Annette and Mike Delehanty, Felicia Doyle, and 18 Grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Herbert Short, son in law Steve Brenner, granddaughters April Nickel and Carolyn Holmes, and grandson Caleb Doyle.
Funeral Services will be on March 6, 2023, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois on State Street. The burial will be at Brighton Illinois Cemetery.
