Peggy Rose Parker, 91, died at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 in St. Charles, Missouri. She was born April 25, 1924 in Alton the daughter of the late Roy and Della (Shelton) Chappell. She was a proud Navy Veteran who served her country during WWII. She retired in 1985 from Stewart- Warner Corporation in Chicago as a book keeper and she was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. On October 4, 1946 in Alton she married Richard "Dick" Parker and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2012. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Chappel, two sisters, Virginia Cunningham and Vera Sloan and one niece, Rose Goodwin. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Jerry MeCaskey to officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey.
