Peggy L. Federle, 78, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton. Born August 7, 1934 in White Hall, she was the daughter of Maude L. (Dossett) Blackketter. She married William V. Federle on October 16, 1961. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. She worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis and later co-owned and operated Peg & Bill's Piasa Restaurant on Lockhaven Road. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Michael Stilts of Fosterburg and Milli and Dale Hill of Bethalto, one son, Marty Gress of Godfrey, eight grandchildren, Kelli Jo Decker (Justin) of Grafton, Justen, Austin, and Adam Stilts of Fosterburg, Robin Hill and Terry Hill (Jennifer) of Omaha, NE, and Joshua and John Hill of Bethalto, five great grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Rawe (Donald) of Jerseyville. She loved her grandchildren and always enjoyed reading. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, a sister, Norma Jean Settles, and a brother, Ray Eugene Blackketter. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Reverend Ken Buttry will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorial may be made to the Alton Salvation Army or the Community Hope Center in Cottage Hills.
