Pauline "Polly" Hoffman, 79, died at 1:32 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her residence in Godfrey. She was born June 17, 1937 in Alton the daughter of Andrew and Paula (Resek) Kotschar Sr. She was graduated from Marquette Catholic High School and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. On August 24, 1957 in Alton she married Frederick Charles Hoffman and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2010. Surviving are two children, Pama L. Buchanan (Raven) of Somerset, N.J. and Michael A. Hoffman (Lynn) of Godfrey, three grandchildren, Jason Buchanan of Indianapolis, IN, Lauren Buchanan of Charlottesville, Virginia and Nathanael Hoffman of Godfrey. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Kotschar Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Father John Luong OMV officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton. The family would like to thank Dr. John Hoelscher, BJC Hospice and the staff of Morningside of Godfrey for their care and kindness.
