Nathan J. Huie, 25, died at 8:43 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 in Alton. Born December 9, 1986 in Mt. Carmel, IL, he was the son of Brenda (Bray) Estes and husband Carr of Alton, and Brad Huie and wife Kathy of Godfrey. He was currently serving with the U.S. Army, as a PFC stationed in Fort Hood, TX and was to be deployed to Afghanistan next month. He loved music, motorcycles, camping, flying, and spending time with his friends. Along with his parents, he is survived by a sister, Hannah Estes of Alton and grandparents, Ezra and Melba Bray of Mt. Carmel and aunts and uncles, Barbara White (Larry) of Mt. Carmel, Sherry Meadows (Larry) of Mt. Carmel, Patti Mortland (Myron) of Mt. Carmel, Cindy Cureton (Tim) of Boonville, Indiana, Melinda Emery (Eddie) of Mt. Carmel, Jeff Bray (Chris) of Sparta, TN, Amy Woollard (Ben) of Claremont, IL, Tim Huie of Christopher, IL, Mac Estes (Sharon) of Alton, IL, Alla Maxeiner (Rex) of Alton, IL, Erin Estes of St. Claire, MO, and Dury Estes of Wood River, several cousins and a special friend, Gabby of Ft. Hood, TX. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, James Huie and an aunt, Carolyn "Ruthie" Swanson. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
