Michael L. Schobernd, 67, died at 6:26 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born April 15, 1944 in Alton the son of the late Stephen J. and Rose Viola (O'Hara) Schobernd. He was retired from Boeing Company as a Department manager. On April 24, 1965 in Godfrey he married Elizabeth "Betty" Dumey and she survives. Also surviving are two sons; Mike Schobernd and his wife Leslie of Brighton and Josh Schobernd and his girlfriend Nichole of Bethalto, five grandchildren; Chasidy and Bryan Metz, Chrystle Schobernd, Jonathan Schobernd, Connor Schobernd and Blake Durham, three great-grandchildren; Bryce Metz, Isabella Metz and Paxton Metz, two sisters; Edith Volden of Spearman, TX and Charlene Hamilton of Canyon, TX and his faithful dog; Peetee. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Greg Allday will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Crisis Food Center.
