Martin Lopez, 67, died at 2:34 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born April 2, 1953 in Wood River, IL the son of the late Juan M. Lopez and Esperanza E. (Espindola) of Alton. He was a member St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton and a firefighter with the Alton Fire Department for 17 years. Besides his mother he is survived by one son, Matthew Lopez (Courtney) of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Mia and Ryan Lopez, one brother, David Lopez (Evelyn) of Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Lupe Licata (Frank) of Bridgeton, MO, Tonya Sassenrath (Adam) of Edwardsville and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his father he is preceded in death by one sister, Diana Lopez. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
