Lucy Roberta Jacoby, 87, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at her home in Godfrey. Born November 1, 1925 in Bowling Green, MO, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Etta L. (DeVerger) Ingle. She retired as a checker for Kroger in East Alton and Wood River. On August 8, 1947 she married Donald K. Jacoby in Hannibal, MO. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John McGarrah of Alton, two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald W. and Shelby Jacoby of Harford, and Robert L. and Nancy Jacoby of Madison, IL, nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Ryan Jacoby, two brothers, Virgil and Charlie Ingle, and four sisters, Alvina McDonald, Mary McMillan, Goldie Ince, and Ann Currier. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013. Pastor Perry Dissmore will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
