Joyce Ann Baker, 72, died at 9:36 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at her home. Born August 8, 1946 she was the daughter of James R. and Annie L. (Burger) Pruitt. Mrs. Baker retired from the book store at Lewis & Clark Community College after 30 years of service. On July 3, 1971 she married Jimmie Allen Baker in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Ronna Haas (Dennis) of Wood River, and Susan Padgett (Jeff) of Grant Fork, IL, five grandchildren, Kyle Haas (Balee), Nicholas Haas, Zachary Haas, Travis Nash and Cory Nash, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie Cox. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
