Dateline: Shipman

Joseph "Joe" Arthur Robinson, 67, died at 8:34 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Jersey Community Hospital. Born February 9, 1952 in Wood River, he was the son of Jewell Alexander and Lula A. (Whitlock) Robinson. He graduated from Civic Memorial High School in 1971 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He also worked the Olin Corporation and for Burleson Distributors. On May 20, 1975 he married the former Kathy Ann Gregory. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Robinson of Shipman and Barbara Jo Finkbeiner of Memphis, TN, a son, Brandon Robinson (Liz) of Shipman, seven grandchildren, Brandon Robinson Jr., Sam Robinson, Holly Robinson, Kathryn Robinson, Leslie Cozart, Tyler Cozart, and Matthew Robinson-Harbaugh. He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence Robinson (Cindy) of Shiloh, IL, and two sisters, Sharon Robinson of Wood River and Patty Griffith of Branson, MO. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Myron and Edward Robinson and two sisters, Georgene Vincent and Lula Ann Robinson. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Shipman United Methodist Church. Reverend Toby Curtright will officiate.
