Joe Anthony Kelley, 65, died at 7:59 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 12, 1953 in Cottage Hills, he was the son of the late Willus and Mary (Darnell) Kelley. He retired from Grants Tree Service as a tree climber after over 25 years of service. He loved playing guitar and enjoyed tinkering and playing chess. He attended Community Faith Church in East Alton. On April 27, 1972 he married Vicki Sanders in Alton. She survives. Also surviving are four children, Jo Ann Kelley of Alton, Mindy Kelley of Alton, Joe Kelley Jr. (Paula) of Alton, and Sunshine Lee (Joseph) of Alton, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one brother, David Kelley of Wisconsin, and one sister, Carol Trosley (Mike) of Modesto, IL. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Misty Kelley, and two brothers, Howard and Ronnie Kelley. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019.
