Jesse E. James, 87, died at 7:38 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home in Alton. Born January 18, 1935 in Hardy, AR, he was the son of Lawrence and Frona (Frailey) James. Mr. James served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Olin Brass as an adjuster. On July 24, 1961 he married the former Louise L. Bowman in Alton. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Rosemary James of Alton and a son, Joseph M. James of Alton, three sisters, Carolyn Horrell, Marilyn James and Loretta Barton, and a granddaughter, Shanna James. No services are scheduled. Memorials may be made to the 5A's Animal Shelter. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
