Jerry Lee Arnold, 80, of St. Louis County, Missouri, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2023 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama to Louie and Eva (Evans) Arnold.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy, serving on two aircraft carriers and in Okinawa, Japan. He worked as a computer programmer for the remainder of his career and enjoyed the detail of creating a tool that worked well for the consumer. He loved nature, fishing, reading Science Fiction, watching TV and movies, and traipsing through the woods for wild mushrooms and other edible plants. He loved his pets and his baseball caps, and he especially loved all four of his children.
He is survived by his children, Scott Arnold Linsley of Missouri, Derek Arnold of California, Darcie Arnold Englert of Florida, and Meagan Arnold of Illinois, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his mother-in-love, Jill Wieland of Jerseyville, Illinois, as well as his ex-wives, Barbara Holtmeier of Florida, and Marti Wieland, of Illinois.
Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Arnold Lorenzen Muscha, both of his parents, and his first wife, Judy.
Visitation will be at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois, on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow.
