Jean Wagenblast, 90, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Blu-Fountain Manor in Godfrey. Born August 24, 1921 in Alton, she was the daughter of Julius and Blanche (Meyer) Boerner. On April 27, 1946 in Alton, she married Leon C. Wagenblast. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1991. Surviving are four children, Janet (Michael) Blakely of Godfrey, Joan (Michael) Gillingham of Columbia, MO, Chris Wagenblast of Carrollton, and Patricia (Ed) Hildebrand of Valley Park, MO, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Ed Boerner of Bethalto, and Tom Boerner of Alton, and three sisters, Eleanor Siglock of Livermore, CA, Dorothy Levens of Dallas, TX, and Peggy Tracy of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Boerner and a sister, Mary Alice Schmidt. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to Blu-Fountain Manor or Passages Hospice. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
