Jean Guy Prairie, 77, passed away at 2:23 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born January 23, 1947 in Montreal, Canada the son of the late Marcellin and Solange (Serra) Prairie. He was a union carpenter for over 40 years. On July 27, 2001 in Edwardsville, IL he married Victoria Rae Tague, and she survives. Also surviving are one step daughter, Meaghan McIntyre (Matt) of Alton, one step son, Grant Fessler of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Chloe McIntyre and Parker McIntyre, one sister in law, Mary (Dale) Busler and two nieces, Nicole Busler and Kelsey Busler. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jean Guy Prairie Jr. A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
