ALTON — James "Jim" Michael Elliott, 45, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his family by his side at 6:52 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis.
Born August 1, 1973, in Alton, he was the son of Michael E. and Sarah "Sally" J. (Kimbro) Elliott.
Jim graduated from Alton High School and attended Lewis and Clark Community College. He worked at Olin Corporation and Hanley Industries until January 2018, after 24 years of service as an Operator. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Alton, Duck's Unlimited and the Alton-Wood River Sportsman's Club.
He was an avid hunter, loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and enjoyed spending time with his family, extended hunting family and friends.
Surviving is his mother, Sally of Alton; sister, Cathy Elliott of Saint Louis; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Elliott (Molly) of Godfrey; nephew, Stephen Elliott of Godfrey; niece, Meghan Elliott of Godfrey; along with many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mike and nephew, Andrew Elliott.
There will be a memorial visitation at Gent Funeral Home Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 3:30p.m.-6:30p.m. A graveside service at Upper Alton Cemetery will be at a later date.
