Helen M. Ragusa, 88, went home to be with the Lord, at 9:50 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab. Born July 11, 1925 in Princeton, MO, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Ruby F. (Mock) McQuerry. Mrs. Ragusa attended Sacred Heart Academy in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was a member of the Beltline Christian Center in Alton. On October 6, 1944 she married Ross Ragusa in Ottumwa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Ann Gross (Jake) of Godfrey, and Karen Rose Vucich (Gary) of Godfrey, two grandsons, Doug Vucich (Trish) and David Vucich, and two great grandchildren, Peyton and Ross Vucich. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ross Ragusa in 1984. Private Christian services were held Friday, September 27, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to Beltline Christian Center, Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.
