Helen J. Smith, 84, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at her home in Alton. Born October 29, 1936 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Joseph Brown and Opal Frances (Colbert) Hopkins. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Alton where she served in the Women's Bible Club and the Dorcas Club. On May 29, 1954 she married Dale Ray Smith in Bowling Green, MO. He preceded her in death in June 1987. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Ann McKinney (Michael) of Jefferson City, MO and Rebecca Kay Albardo (Daniel) of Brighton, IL and two sons, Edward Dean Smith (Diane) of Dow and Robert Alan Smith (Carmen) of Godfrey. Also surviving grandchildren, Daniel, Gregory, Patrick, Zachary, Nicholas, Michelle and Nicole, and great grandchildren, Julia, Hunter, Jaren, Avery, Seth, Sydney, Drew and Sam. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the First Christian Church of Alton. Jim Johnston will officiate. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
