Hazel Mae Maguire, age 94, died at 8:45 pm on Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton. She was born on August 5, 1916 in Alton the daughter of the late Harry and Agnes (Dotson) Shepeard. Hazel was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. On November 27, 1943 she married Daniel T. Maguire in Cape Girardeau, Mo and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1970.
Surviving are a daughter; Susan McConnell of Alton and five grandchildren; Lisa Orsinelli (Augie) of New Albany, Ohio, Bradley McConnell (Marlee) of Washington DC, Daniel McConnell (Stacy) of South Bend, Indiana, Brian McConnell of St. Louis and Mary Hough (Nathan) of Alton and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son; Michael T. Maguire and her sister; Helen Shepeard.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral Mass will be at noon on Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey with Fr. Steve Pohlman officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to Marquette Catholic High School
