Harley D. Norby, 90, died at 3:34 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2026 at Laurel Meadows in Saint Charles, Mo. Born July 18, 1936 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, he was the son of Harold and Jennie (Larson) Norby. On May 30, 1958 he married Effie “Faye” Parker, she preceded him in death on February 25, 2023. Mr. Norby is survived by a brother; David Norby (Janice) of Fenton, Mo. a son, David Norby (Patti) of Troy, MO, a daughter-in-law, Audra Norby, four grandchildren, Kerri, Taylor, Dylan, and Julia, and two great grandchildren, Honor and Reid. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Norby and a brother Robert Norby. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service at 11:30am Thursday, November 5th, 2026, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. following the funeral service. at Reiss Chapel at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
