Gary L. Roberts, 67, formerly of Grafton, died at 4:22 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Illinois Veterans' Home in Quincy. Born May 19, 1944 in Alton, he was the son of Robert J. and Rosella (Dehner) Roberts. He retired from Chemetco in Hartford after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. On November 10, 1963 he married the former Rosemarie Lorsbach. She survives. Also surviving are five children, Paula Elliott and her husband Tom of Elsah, Gary J. Roberts and his wife Carolyn of Jerseyville, and twins Diane Dienberg and her husband Ken of Grafton, and Joann Fry and her husband Jim of Jerseyville, 10 grandchildren, Jessica Wade, Brian Lashbrook, Katie Elliott, Kelli Roberts, Holli Roberts, Stephen Schenck, Emily Schenck, Daniel Schenck, Joshua Fry and Caleb Fry, three great grandchildren, Waylen, Dakota, and Logan Wade, five brothers and sisters and spouses, Elaine and Robert Weaver, Robin J. and Carole Roberts, Keith and Carol Roberts, Kevin and Jill Roberts, Michael and Betty Roberts. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011. Father William Hembrow will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans' Home in Quincy.
