Eleanor May Emmons, 89, died at 12:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born June 14, 1927 in East Alton, IL the daughter of the late George B. and Ida May (Gibbons) Emmons. She retired in 1983 after 38 years as a crew leader of Owens IL Glass. She volunteered for many years with senior services plus and at Eldercare of Alton. Surviving are one cousin, Donald Emmons of Yakima, WA, and special friends Norman and Lora Keene of Alton. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, George Edward Emmons. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Andre' Dobson officiating. Per her wishes her body was donated to St. Louis University. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
