Eleanor Elaine Blanton, 67, died at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at her home. Born January 15, 1944 in Alton, she was the daughter of Morris and Anna (Stormer) Wahl. She retired as a secretary from Western Union in St. Louis, MO after 18 years of service and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. On April 20, 1963 in Carrollton, IL, she married Michael Blanton. He survives. Also surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Blanton and Stacy Forister of Alton, a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Wetzstein of Alton, two grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Wetzstein as well as extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
