Edna Viola Vinson, 85, died at 5:37 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023 at her home in Godfrey. Born May 25, 1938 in Alton, she was the daughter of Nathan and Pansey (Connor) Edsall. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. She married Jackie Vinson and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed camping, quilting, her neighborhood and especially visiting with her neighbor ladies. She loved to bake, cook and spend time with her family and friends. Surviving is her companion, Stanley Karrick, four children, Pamela (Dave) Scott of Greenfield, IL, Jeff (Theresa) Vinson of Dow, Laurie (Danny) Adkins of Bath, IL, and Amy Wilson of Dow, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Nathan (Sue) Edsall of Alton and Ronny (Babe) Edsall of Worden, and a sister, Shirley Edsall of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vera Marks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Dow Southern Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
