Doris June Watkins, 85, died at 11:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville. Born April 12, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Keth) Harter. Doris was a member of Elm Street Presbyterian Church in Alton. She enjoyed playing golf with the Lady Birdies at Muny Golf Course. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. On August 18, 1951 she married M. Robert Watkins in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Karen S. Robnak (David) of Creve Coeur, MO, and Janet L. Huber (Rick) of Godfrey, one son, Robert K. Watkins of Godfrey, and four grandchildren, Michael Robnak, Ryan Huber, Steven Robnak, and Jennifer Huber. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Watkins and a brother, Robert Harter. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Bill Veith will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Elm Street Presbyterian Church.
