Darrell Luebbert, 88, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born December 21, 1931 in Granite City, IL the son of the late Ted and Reba (Morrow) Luebbert. He was proud of the years he spent in the U.S. Navy and he retired as a crane operator engineer after many years. On February 7, 1971 he married Betty Strader and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jill Payne of Shipman and one son Steve Luebbert of Troy, IL. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Michael and one brother, Dudley. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
