Christopher J. Emery, age 69 formerly of Alton, died Saturday December 4, 2010 at the Cedar Ridge Manor at Cedar Hill MO. He was born June 12, 1941 in Wood River IL. The son of the late Lewis and Julia (Logee) Emery, Christopher was a U.S. Army veteran and a salesman for AmeriGas in Festus/Crystal City, MO. Surviving are two sons; Scott and Steve Emery, both of Alton, four daughters; Sandy Baker and her husband Vernett of Brighton, Susie Mintert and her husband Mike of West Alton, MO, Marlow Spangler of East Alton, and Christian Shankle of Alton, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two brothers; Vester and his wife Isolde Emery, Delnor and his wife Judy Emery, all from Texas, a sister; Anna Lafferty and her husband James of East Alton, his former wife Sharon Emery of Alton. He was preceded in death by a brother; Jerome Emery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to St. Jude?s Hospital.
