Byron Earl "Sonny" Harris, 85, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Integrity Health Care of Wood River. Born October 14, 1935 in Alton, he was the son of Byron Oscar "Slim" and Rose Iona (Bosaw) Harris. He served in the U.S. Navy and the USS Yorktown and was a construction worker for Central Laborers Union. Surviving are two daughters, Lynn McElroy (Donnie) of Brighton, and Lisa Baze (Tony) of Stephenson, AL, a son, Rick Harris (Denise) of Fargo, ND, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and a brother, Luke Harris of Alton. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna, a son, Keith Harris, three brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
