Bruce Arnold Moore Jr, 77, died at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. He was born May 6, 1939 in Chicago the son of the late Bruce Arnold (Sr.) and Grace Elizabeth Moore. After earning a B.S. in Social Work from Ohio State University in 1964 and a Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1967, he worked for 20 years in the Dept. of Mental Health for the State of Illinois. In 2009 he retired from Florida Hospital in Orlando after 15 years as a Social Worker/Discharge Planner. He enjoyed reading, gardening, camping and taking walks in the woods. On June 15, 1963 in Alton he married Carole (Jacobson) and she survives. Also surviving are one son and two daughters; Steven Moore of Madison, WI, Kimberly Moore of Bethalto and Kristin Moore of Alton, three grandchildren; Alyssa, Kristena and Lilly Moore, one brother; John Rose of Hawaii and one sister; Jane Mueller of Alton. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey with Reverend Jerry MeCaskey to officiate.
