Obituary

Beverly Elaine Edelman was born April 27, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the Angels wrapped her in their comfort. She is now headed to Glory's side in the midst of God's Paradise at the tree of life. She has endured much during her last few years. Beverly raised five children. She married Kenneth Edelman and received three grown bonus sons. She and Kenneth resided in Grafton. They had many happy years together before he preceded her in death. Beverly was a generous, giving daughter, loving older sister, mother, step-mother, aunt, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma to a large extended family. One of her last most precious moments was holding and kissing a great grandchild. She was a loving friend to many throughout her precious years. She retired as a school bus driver for the Alton School District. It brought her great joy busing children to and from school. Some of her passions included family gatherings, preparing delicious large family meals, baking batches of homemade cookies especially her favorites, Christmas sugar cookies. She enjoyed getting lost in a good book, spending time on the beautiful Missouri Rivers around a campfire with children, riding horses, hiking until well into her 70's, and assisting others in need. Beverly loved living life to the fullest, and even ziplined in Grafton at age 75! She was very caring to all creatures upon the earth. She had a special love for nature, horses, dogs, cats and birds, especially Hummingbirds. Beverly is now in her eternal home, rejoicing and embracing the loved ones that she has dearly missed. They are now all together surrounding her with their gentle, calming, comforting love. She is at peace. All is well with her soul. Aging, diseases, illnesses, grief, sorrows, and pain are no longer a part of her days. She is now at eternal rest. She is dearly missed already and patiently she will await all whom she loves. Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. In loving memory of Beverly and Kenneth, there will be a bench and tree planting celebration (anticipating June of 2024) at the Wock Family Lake and Walking Trail in Jerseyville. In her tender loving honor, please be patient and kind to all and plant a tree in her memory. Please share your fondest memories and favorite pictures on her online memorial guestbook and know she is where she has longed to be, safely home, watching over us. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks to ALL who assisted and cared for Beverly. It was deeply appreciated.
There will be a memorial StoryWalk in memory of Mrs. Edelman from April 1, 2025-April 30, 2025 at Wock Lake on June Street in Jerseyville. "Wordy Birdy" will be the featured book for this walk.
Caring words from a mother:
"Seeking meaningfulness brings us the gifts of joy; such as that of a precious child's giggle"

"What others say or do can hurt and affect us, yet it does not define us. Our true character, our best us, that says who we are"
