We sadly announce the passing of Barbara Ann Pryor of Alton Illinois on March 13th, 2024 at the age of 75.
Barbara was born to Paul and Marjorie (Casper) O'Donnell on October 12, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School in 1966, Barbara earned her degree from Ball State University. After a few years teaching at Alton's Fosterberg Elementary School, Barbara changed careers and spent 30 years as a Respiratory Therapy Technician at Christian Hospital in St. Louis. Barbara had a great love of animals especially her pet dogs and cats. She was an active supporter of the Humane Society especially 5A's Animal Shelter. She found joy participating with friends at the local Bible Study Fellowship and attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Godfrey.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Kevin) Bradley of Godfrey; grandchildren Dylan, Davis, and Harper Bradley; niece Laura (Scott) Varner; stepchildren, Vera (Michael) Mueller, Lisa (Tim) Oltman, Darrell (Debbie) Pryor; 6 additional grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Moving to new caring homes are her canine and feline companions Misty and Trooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Pryor, her grandson Sgt. Paul James Oltman USMC, her sister Emily Jane Hinkle, her parents, and many loved pets.
Visitation will be held at Gent Funeral Home, Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10:30 a.m. followed by procession to Valhalla Memorial Park for interment.
