Amy L. Stewart, 90, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born July 18, 1920 in San Bernardino, CA, she was the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Cawthon) Lippincott. She retired in 1981 after more than 28 years as a head checker for Kroger Grocery store. She married George Bourland in 1937. They later divorced. She then married Harry Stewart. He preceded her in death. Surviving is a son, Gabe Bourland of Godfrey, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Anders and Nancy Harding, a twin brother, Frank Lippincott Jr. and a sister, Betty Roberts. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
