Alta Mae Phillips, 89, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab. Born August 15, 1921 in Milton, IL, she was the daughter of Ernest and Vida (Crisp) Moore. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Godfrey and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cake decorating. On January 2, 1941 she married Everett Phillips. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Larry Voumard of Alton, a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Phillips of Godfrey, six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one brother, William Moore of Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leland and Kelly Moore and two sisters, Helen Guthrie, and Sara Jane Phillips. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Lance Hagenbeck will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
