Alice E. McMahon, 89, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville. Born August 22, 1922 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Charles and Marcella (Connor) Sinclair. She retired as a secretary for Marquette Catholic High School in Alton after over 15 years of service and was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. On June 19, 1946 in St. Louis, she married Joseph F. McMahon. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1989. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and John Melaga of Peoria, Patricia and Gerald Stolze of Alton, and Maureen and Jeffrey Wilson of Edwardsville, two sons and a daughter-in-law, John J. and Beverly McMahon of Winfield, MO, and Daniel J. McMahon of Birmingham, Alabama, 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one brother, Robert F. Sinclair of Treasure Island, Florida. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Donald Sinclair. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic in Alton with Fr. Delix Michel officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.
