Dateline: Bethalto, IL Beverly J. Wallace Jr., 77, died at 7:51 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2020. He was born January 14, 1943 in Alton the son of the late Beverly J. Wallace, Sr. and M. Genovee Buchanan Wallace. He was a truck driver for many years with KienstraConcrete. On June 9, 1972 in Alton, he married Katherine A. Mackelden and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Diana Kremer (Timothy) of Nebo, IL, Tara Barber (Phillip) of Wood River, IL and Melanie Guthrie (Matthew) of Nebo, IL and one son, Michael J. Wallace of Nebo, IL, 10 grandchildren, Kristin Lewis (Victor) of Alton, Jillian Barber of Wood River, Ian Guthrie of Nebo, Aiden Guthrie of Nebo, Justin Kremer (Tabby) of Pleasant Hill, Ryan Kremer (Katy) of Nebo, Morgan Sealock (David) of Nebo, Brandy Allred (Steve) of Pittsfield, Aaron Wallace of Mt. Sterling and Jordan Wallace of Nebo, and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters in laws, Virginia Wallace and Sharon Shoeber (Bob). Four brothers in laws, Fred Mackelden (Linda), John Mackelden (Carmen), Charles Mackelden and Jessie Mackelden (Joan), and his faithful companions, Baxter and Thor. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Wallace and Ray Wallace and one sister-in-law, Linda Mackelden and his best bud, Max. Bev loved spending time with his family. Bev and Kathy enjoyed traveling and playing slot machines in casinos with their best friends, Fred and Linda Mackelden. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Grimes Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. CDC guidelines will be followed. Please where a face mask if attending services.
