Ivy (Fox) Hawk

Dateline: White Hall, IL Ivy (Fox) Hawk passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on March 24, 2018, in White Hall Illinois at the age of 87. Ivy is survived by her husband of 69 years Donald Lee Hawk of White Hall IL, five children: Jud (Brenda) Hawk of White Hall, Jill (David) Clupper of Edmond, OK, Jeffrey (Gina) Hawk of Roodhouse, Tad (partner Jim Braden) Hawk of Shiloh, Ted Hawk of White Hall, 10 grand children: Stephanie Hawk, Elisa Clupper (Nick) Thompson , Abby Clupper (Ryan) Miller, Ellen Clupper, Robert (Leah) Hawk and Ashlee Hawk, Chad Clanton, Donivyn, Tabitha, and Nicole Hawk and five great grand children: Eleanor and MicahThompson, Nolan Miller, Bennett and Adler Hawk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Ethel (Price) Fox, and seven siblings: Maude Cox, Mary Farnbach, Doris Kelly, Loyal Fox, Harlan Fox, Iris Bain, and Clarence Fox. Ivy was born November 11, 1930, in Walkerville Township, IL to Bert and Ethel (Price) Fox. She graduated from White Hall High School in 1948. She married Donald Hawk, her high school sweetheart, November 12, 1948. After high school Ivy worked at the White Hall Dress factory from 1948-1950, Roodhouse High School as secretary to the principal from 1958-1962, and at Hertzberg New Method Book Bindery from 1967-1970. She spent the remainder of her years as wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother. Ivy was a member of First Baptist Church, White Hall, IL. She enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables through the years. She loved any kind of flower; her favorite time of year was Spring, and her favorite music was old fashioned country….Ernest Tubb, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Ivy was quite the competitor at games, 500 Rummy being her game of choice. She spent many hours working crossword puzzles, researching family history, and connecting daily with friends and family on Facebook. Most of all, Ivy loved her family and spending time laughing, joking, and telling old stories of her childhood. Her laugh was infectious and her smile and warm kitchen invited anyone who came through the doors as family. You are invited to gather with the family and share your stories Saturday, March 31st 1-3 pm at the Masonic Lodge, White Hall. Cremation and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many comforting words of condolence offered since her passing.
