Dale Alan Henderson

Dale Alan Henderson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on December 7, 1955, in Alton, Illinois, Dale was a lifelong resident of the area, deeply rooted in the community he loved. Dale was a dedicated Control Room Operator for Illinois Power, where he worked tirelessly for over three decades. He was known for his strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues. His contribution to the industry and the friendships he formed were integral parts of his life. Surviving his wife, Patricia A. Henderson of Alton, 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Carrie (Luis) Rodriguez of Alton, Anne (Joe) Kessler of Des Peres, MO., Jennifer Henderson of Pocahontas, IL., 1 son and daughter-in-law; Nathan (Amanda, aka "Bambi"), 4 grandchildren; Mercedes (Kyle) Morris, Dane Henderson, Delaney Henderson and Maddie Kessler. Preceded in death by his beloved father, Carl D. Henderson, and his dear mother, Barabara Henderson, first wife, Kathleen J. Henderson. Dale remained devoted to his family throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and quiet strength that will be cherished by those who knew him. Although Dale’s presence will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his surviving family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His love for his family was boundless, and he found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories from his youth, and imparting wisdom gathered over a lifetime. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25th, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gent Funeral Home in Alton A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 26th, 2026 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton Father Jeff Holtman will officiate, Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey at a later date. Dale’s family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. While he may no longer be with us, his spirit endures, lighting the way for those who were lucky enough to call him family and friend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dale's honor to Helping Hands of SS Peter & Paul., reflecting his lifelong commitment to giving back to the community.
